Order Details
Help Table of Contents

This page appears when you click the Sample ID entry for a patient on the Orders tab in the Edit Patient page. It also appears when you click the Sample ID entry for a patient from the list of Completed Results or Orders in Progress accessed from the main Results page.

Viewing Order Details

  1. You must have the Web View Unapproved Orders security setting enabled in order to view the details for orders that are in progress. See Configuring Harvest Webstation: Establishing Security Settings.

  2. This page displays the order details and results in a report format. The detailed patient information is displayed at the top of the page, and the test result information is displayed at the bottom of the page.

You can modify your advanced configuration options to display additional user-defined fields for the selected result.

  3. Depending on the Web Preferences settings in Harvest, the report will either appear in HTML with links to the patient record and to order choice details, or it will be displayed in PDF. Click either the Display as PDF button or Display as HTML button to change the view. The PDF format will take longer to display, and it will not contain links to test results and graphing like the HTML format. If you do not have the necessary security setting to view and print PDF reports, then the report will always appear in HTML format, and the buttons to change the display will not appear. See Configuring Harvest Webstation: Establishing Security Settings for more information.
  4. You can modify your advanced configuration options to include a test (with hyperlink) on the displayed HTML version of a report when the patient has any other non-empty results for that test on other reports. This allows you to click on the test to see a list and create a graph for all other results for that test, including tests run before and after the current test. If this is not set, Harvest Webstation will not display a link for tests with empty results on the current report, whether or not there were non-empty results for the test on other reports.

You can modify your advanced configuration options to include the Order Date and Ordered By information in the header of the displayed and printed HTML version of the report.

You can modify your advanced configuration options to display "Transmitted: MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM" (approved date/time) at the top of PDF patient reports and "REPRINT: Orig. printing on MM/DD/YYYY" at the bottom of PDF patient reports that have been delivered via Deliver Finished Results in Harvest. Note that this option applies only to PDF reports.

You can modify your advanced configuration options to increase the timeout period when generating PDF reports in Harvest Webstation (the default is 60 seconds per report).

  5. If there is a photo for the patient, it appears centered above the report header. In the HTML version of the report, click the image to view a larger version of the photo. See Patient Photo.

Note that pictures that display well in Harvest can display with incorrect colors in Harvest Webstation if the picture was not saved with a maximum of 256 colors. See Troubleshooting for more information.

  6. If the System Administrator for Harvest has defined one or more custom fields, then the field(s) appear at the bottom of the report header.

  7. If there is an ID comment for the order, then it appears just below the report header information.

  8. If an order choice is not included in your Results Security Group (assigned in Harvest), then the results for the order choice are marked as "RESTRICTED."

  9. Harvest Webstation displays "Pending..." and the testing location in parentheses in place of results when there are unapproved order choice results. You can modify your advanced configuration options to use any word or phrase in place of "Pending..." for the approval status of the order choice.

  10. If the patient is less than one year old, Harvest Webstation displays his or her Age in number of days old (e.g., 139d for 139 days old).

  11. By default, Harvest Webstation sorts the order choices on the order by the print order settings in the Order Choices table (in Harvest) for the order choices in the order. However, if there are "Report Title" settings for the order choices in the order, Harvest Webstation sorts all order choices by this value, and then by the print order. When set, all order choices with no report title will print first, then all other order choices will be printed in alphabetical order of report title. A title will appear (within a gray bar) above each group of order choices with the same title. If you would prefer to sort order choices by their print order first, and then by their report title, you can modify your advanced configuration options to do so.

  12. The results for non-microbiology and non-AP tests are displayed with the Test, Results, Abnormal, Units, and Range values for each test in the order.
  13. Click the "d" link to the left of the Test column, if available, to view the delta information for the test result the Delta Information page. This link is only available if an order choice has triggered the delta settings you established in the Lab Tests table in Harvest.

Note that Harvest Webstation displays the test abbreviation by default, but you can enable the "Print test name instead of abbreviation" preference to display the test name instead. See Configuring Harvest Webstation: Modifying Program Preferences.

  14. The results for microbiology and AP tests consist of the most recent preliminary or final report that was created in the Microbiology or Anatomic Pathology windows in Harvest, even if the report has been marked as "Don't Report" or if other tests were added to the order choice after the final or preliminary report. See the Harvest online help for more information.

  15. If a test is set up in Harvest to include a photo, then Harvest Webstation will display the photo in the Results column.

Note that pictures that display well in Harvest can display with incorrect colors in Harvest Webstation if the picture was not saved with a maximum of 256 colors. See Troubleshooting for more information.

  16. The following items only apply to the HTML version of the report:
    • You can click on the test to open a page where you can access the Test History or the Result Graph for the selected test.
    • If you are working with microbiology results, you can modify your advanced configuration options to display the latest microbiology report in the bottom half of the Order Details page. If no report has been created, then the text area displays "No report available."
    • AP Reports display in HTML mode using the same display settings as in Harvest, including font, font size, shading, and indenting.
    • By default, information-only order choices (those marked with [i]) will appear on the screen, but will not be included on reports sent to the printer. In this case, if the report only contains information-only order choices, then a blank report will print, containing only a header and footer. However, you can modify your advanced configuration options to display or hide information-only order choices on the screen and/or on the printed report. See the Harvest online or printed help for more information.
    • Click a patient's name to open the record in the Edit Patient page, where you can create, view, or edit information for the selected patient.
    • You can modify your advanced configuration options to narrow the width of the wrapped comment text.

  17. Click the Clinical Info button to view the answers to clinical information questions. See Clinical Info. This button is only available when there are clinical questions related to the order.

  18. Click the Next button to open the next result from the Completed Results list. Note that this does not mark the result as reviewed. To mark a result as reviewed, use the Mark as Reviewed button. See "Marking Results as Reviewed" below.

Delivering Results

After you have reviewed the report, you can choose to print, fax, or email the report, using the available buttons. You must have the necessary security settings to use each of the delivery methods below. If you do not, Harvest Webstation will list the setting you do not have and will prompt you to contact your System Administrator.

  1. Click the Print button to print the results.
    • If the report is displayed in HTML, clicking the Print button will open a window with the report in PDF format.
    • If the report is displayed in PDF format, no Print button will be displayed. Instead, you must use the Print option in the PDF display frame to print the report.
  2. Click the Fax button to open the Fax Results page.
  3. Click the Email button to open the Email Results page.
  4. Click the Web button to open the Web Deliver Results page.

Printing Invoices, Requisitions, and Labels

From this page, you can print additional copies of the invoice, requisitions, or labels for an order. This is helpful in case you have trouble with your printer, or if need to print additional copies to file or to send with the sample.

  1. Click the Invoice button to print the invoice. See Printing Invoices. Note that if the system administrator for Harvest has disabled invoices for Harvest Webstation, then Harvest Webstation will alert you to the problem, and it will not print an invoice when you click the Invoice button.

  2. Click the Requisition button to select and print requisitions. This button is only available if requisitions were printed with the original order. See Printing Requisitions.

You can modify your advanced configuration options to allow the printing of requisitions for any test location, regardless of requisition settings. The button will always display when the option is enabled.

  3. Click the Labels button to print labels for the order. You must have already installed and configured the LabelPrinting application to use this feature. See Configuring Harvest Webstation: Enabling Label Printing for more information.

Viewing Comments

Click the Comments button to view or modify patient, order, order choice, or test comments. See Comments. Note that if there are comments at any level for the patient, the button text will be italicized.

Viewing Links

Click the Links button to view any linked documents or images that have been added at the patient, order, order choice or test level. Note that this button only appears if links exist. See Linked Documents.

Viewing Related Split Orders

Click the Split Orders button to view related split orders. This button is only available if Harvest Webstation split the original order because of split order rules. See Related Split Orders.

Marking Results as Reviewed

  1. If you want to indicate that you have reviewed the results, click the Mark as Reviewed button. Harvest Webstation marks the result as reviewed and opens the next result from the Completed Results list. This removes the selected completed results from the list; however, you can still view these results from the Orders tab in the Edit Patient page.
  2. This button is only available if the patient results are available to be marked as reviewed. It will not appear when you view results from the Orders In Progress list, but it will appear if you use the Find Patient page to look up patient results that are complete.

If you click the Mark as Reviewed button and you do not have the necessary security settings to mark results as reviewed, Harvest Webstation alerts you to that fact, and will not mark the reports as reviewed.

Note that you can mark multiple completed results as reviewed on the Completed Results page. See Completed Results for more information.

If your facility has the necessary comment preference enabled in Harvest, then Harvest will add a reportable order-level comment to a patient report when a Harvest Webstation user marks a report as reviewed. See the Harvest online or printed help.

Depending on the comment preference settings in Harvest, when you mark a report as reviewed on this page, Harvest will automatically create an order-level comment on the report containing your name. See the Harvest online or printed help for more information.

You can modify your advanced configuration options to re-queue reports to the Deliver Finished Results window in Harvest when you mark a result as reviewed. An order-level comment will also be added to the report indicating when the report was web-reviewed.

  3. You will receive an alert and not be able to mark the order as reviewed if another user is currently modifying the patient's record.

  4. When the option to view all of the orders for providers within your Web Personnel Group is enabled, non-providers can access completed orders for their Web Personnel Group from the Completed Results page to mark the orders as reviewed, even if they are not the patient's primary provider or a CC list recipient.
  5. IMPORTANT: Non-providers are not able to mark the same results as reviewed if they access the order by performing a search for the patient. Primary providers or CC list recipients can mark the orders as reviewed, regardless of how they accessed the results.

  6. Marking the result as reviewed adds a notation in the Harvest Results Delivery Report indicating that the report has been reviewed via Harvest Webstation. See the Harvest online help for more information.

  7. Once you have marked a result as reviewed, Harvest Webstation opens the next completed order from your completed orders list for your review.
