To use Harvest Webstation, you must establish security settings and you may modify program preferences, modify advanced configuration options, enable label printing, or customize the footer.
Modifying Advanced Configuration Options
Advanced configuration options may be used to configure advanced settings for users. These options are located and must be modified in the Advanced Configuration Options window in Harvest. The Advanced Configuration Options window contains three tabs, and how the specified options are applied is based on the tab on which they are placed:
- System-wide: These System-wide configuration options apply to all workstations.
- Workstation: (The name of this tab changes to match the selected workstation.) These configuration options control the behavior of the selected workstation. A system administrator may use the Workstation tab to override System-wide configuration options for that particular workstation only. Note that when connected to a single-workstation Harvest system, Harvest Webstation will use the workstation's advanced configuration option settings, and the Webstation/Server tab is not available.
- Webstation/Server: These configuration options, stored on the web server, control the behavior for all Harvest Webstation users as well as the Harvest server. A system administrator may use the Webstation tab to override System-wide configuration options for Harvest Webstation only.
You may also create special advanced configuration options on the Webstation/Server tab that only apply to individual users. This feature enables administrators to set specific values for some users, and still have a default value for all other Harvest Webstation users.
See the Harvest help for more information on configuring advanced configuration options.
