Viewing or Delta Information

Delta checking compares patient results for a specific test over an established time period. The delta checking limits are expressed as a percentage or unit deviation between results. It may be medically significant when these delta checks are exceeded. Each laboratory is responsible for defining its particular limits and course of action should these limits be exceeded.

  1. Harvest Webstation will flag any result that falls outside of defined limits for delta checking. You define delta checking limits in the Lab Tests table in Harvest. See the Harvest online or printed help for more information.
  2. The Delta Check Information page provides the following information:
    • Test: Harvest Webstation lists the delta information beneath the order choice abbreviation.
    • Current Result: The current result value and its % deviation from the previous result.
    • Delta Tolerance: The defined tolerance limit for percentage deviation.
    • Delta Period: The defined time interval. Note that the delta may be defined to consider all prior results.
    • Previous Results: The previous results for the patient, the date of the previous test(s), and the amount of time since the previous test(s).
  3. Once you have finished viewing the delta information, click Close to return to the Order Details page
