Accessing Patient Record Tabs

This page appears when Harvest Webstation is unable to find a match for your entry in the Patient or ID field from the Order Samples: Patient & Order Choices page, when you click the Add Patient button in the Order Samples: Find Patient or Order Samples: Patient List pages, when there is only one match from a patient search accessed from the main Results page, or if you click a patient name in the Patient Search Results, Unreleased Orders, Orders in Progress (technologists only), or Completed Results pages.

Harvest Webstation displays the Patient tab by default when you access the page during order entry, or it displays the Orders tab when you access the page by performing a patient search or click a patient's name on any of the order list pages.

Use the Orders tab to access the patient's existing orders (those that have been accessioned in Harvest) or to access the Patient, Insurance, Encounter, Alerts, or Recurring Orders tabs. If you make changes to the information on any of these tabs and then click on a different tab, the changes will automatically be saved. If there are alerts for the patient, then the Alerts tab name appears as "Alerts!" with an exclamation point.

Using the Orders Tab

The patient's Name, Patient ID, and Provider are listed at the top of the tab. Note that Harvest Webstation appends "[DECEASED]" to the patient's name in the list of matches if the patient is marked as deceased on this page (see below) or in Harvest.
  1. The orders displayed in this page are listed with the Draw Date, the Draw Time, the Sample ID, the Ordering Provider, and with a Description of the order choices included in the order. Harvest Webstation displays "[ SPLIT ]" in front of the order choice name in the Description column for all split orders. If there are many orders for the patient, you may need to use the scroll bar to view all of the orders in the list.
  2. This list is also affected by whether the orders are being filtered by the ordering provider or the patient's provider and whether Harvest Webstation is set up to hide inaccessible orders on the orders list. See Security Filtering Preferences for more information.

Non-microbiology order choices marked as "Omit from Batch Print" (a setting established in Harvest) may or may not appear on this page, and/or in the printed report, depending on advanced configuration options. By default, these order choices are not included on the screen or the printed report. However, you may modify your advanced configuration options to display the omit from batch print order choices on the screen, on the printed report, or both. Contact technical support for help establishing these settings.

Approved microbiology order choices will appear in this list whether or not they are marked as "Omit from Batch Print."

You may modify your advanced configuration options to italicize the Draw Date and Draw Time values for an order in the list if that order contains a link. See Linked Documents.

  3. Click an entry in the Sample ID column to view the details for the selected order in the Order Details page, where you may access the Test History or the Result Graph for a selected test, mark results as reviewed, as well as print, fax, or email the report.
  4. If an order has been archived in Harvest, then "ARCHIVED" will appear in place of the SID number.

If an order has been restored from archive, then the SID number is restored, but the label "ARCHIVED:" will still appear in front of the SID number.

If you do not have the Web View Unapproved Orders security setting enabled, then Harvest Webstation will alert you to that fact, and you will not be allowed to view the details for the orders in progress in the Order Details page. See Configuring Harvest Webstation: Establishing Security Settings for more information.

If Harvest Webstation is configured to show inaccessible results, then the sample ID will not be a link. Click the ?? link to open the Security Reasons page. This page lists order information and your security settings, along with an explanation of why the order is inaccessible. See Security Reasons for more information.

  5. If you accessed this page during order entry, access the Patient tab and then click the Save & Return to Order button to save your changes and return to the page from which you came.
  6. If you accessed this page from performing a patient search, access the Patient, Encounter, or Alerts tab and then click the Save button to save any changes you made.
