Before you use Harvest Webstation, you must establish security settings and you may configure program preferences, modify advanced configuration options, enable label printing, or customize the footer.

Modifying Program Preferences

The Harvest Webstation preference settings are located--and must be modified--in Harvest. If you do not make any changes to these preferences, then Harvest Webstation will operate based on the preference settings currently in place for Harvest users. The Harvest Webstation preference settings affect how web security functions. See Security Filtering Preferences for more information.

All of the Harvest Webstation users who are connected to a single-workstation Harvest will have the same preferences. However, if you have a multi-workstation Harvest, then you may modify some preferences specifically for Harvest Webstation users by clicking the Set Web User Prefs button on the Web Preferences window.

The preferences that you may modify for Harvest Webstation (in multi-workstation Harvest) include:

• Facility information (Name, Address, Lab Director, CLIA ID)
• Sample ID format / Workgroup (see Order Samples: Sample ID Formats)
• Duplicate test checking
• Saving duplicate tests
• Diagnosis code checking (requiring an entry)
• Live demographic link queries and patient ID suffixes
• Label printing (see Printing Labels)
• Invoice printing (see Printing Invoices)
• Order choice tabs and columns
• Deferred requisition printing
• Print formatting for abnormal results (see Printing)
• Results comments settings (how comments are printed on reports)
• Time format (military or AM/PM)
• Automatic capitalization
• Pivot year
• Title for requisition number field

Harvest Webstation uses the System-wide preferences set in Harvest for all other preference settings, including microbiology, AP, comment, maintenance, and Harvest Webstation color (links, backgrounds, title bars, etc.) settings. See the Harvest online help for more information on configuring preferences.

Remember that you must restart the 4D server in order for your changes to Harvest Webstation preferences to take effect.
