Incoming Message

  1. Each time you open a new page or perform an action, Harvest Webstation checks to see if you have received a message from a user via the Message Center (users may send messages from either the Message Center in Harvest Webstation or the Message Center in Harvest).
  2. If you have any messages, Harvest Webstation displays the Incoming Message page in front of the regular Harvest Webstation window. This page contains the message sender, message recipient, message delivery date and time, and message text, plus an area to enter reply text.

    Note: If your web browser is set to block pop-up windows, the Incoming Message page will not open, and you may receive an alert that your browser is blocking pop-ups. You must change your web browser or toolbar settings to allow pop-up windows for the Harvest Webstation site in order for the message window to appear. See Troubleshooting: Pop-up Windows are Blocked and Do Not Open.

  3. Enter text in the Reply field, if desired, to send a message back to the sender. If the message sender requires a response, Harvest Webstation renames this field Reply (Required), and an error will appear if you click the OK button without entering text in this field.
  4. Mark the Require a response checkbox to require the recipient to respond to your message.
  5. Click the Later button to close the window for one minute (one minute is the default setting, but it can be modified with an advanced configuration option). After one minute, Harvest Webstation will display the message again.
  6. Click the Print button to print the message (alternatively, if you are using Internet Explorer, you may print the message by right-clicking the Incoming Message page, and then selecting "Print" from the menu). Adjust the print settings, if necessary, and then click Print. If you have entered text in the Reply field, then that text prints, as well.
  7. Click OK to mark the message as acknowledged, to send your reply (if available), and to close the window. Note that the date and time you acknowledged the message, as well as your reply, are recorded in Harvest.
  8. If you close the window by clicking the X in the upper-right corner of the window, the message will not be marked as acknowledged, and it will appear again the next time you open a new page or perform an action in Harvest Webstation. You must acknowledge the message to make the window stop appearing.
  9. If you have multiple messages, then after you acknowledge a message, the next message will appear the next time you open a new page or perform an action.
