Message Center
Help Table of Contents
This page appears when you click the Message Center link on the left-hand side of the Harvest Webstation page.

The Message Center enables you to exchange messages with other Harvest and Harvest Webstation users.

Note that you must have the necessary security settings in order to access the Message Center. See Configuring Harvest Webstation: Establishing Security Settings for more information.

Sending Messages

  1. The Message Center contains two tabs. Select the Users tab to display the names of all users who have a Harvest or Harvest Webstation user name and password. Note that a checkmark appears in the Phlebotomist, Technologist, and Provider columns for each group the user belongs to. You may sort the users by clicking on a column header, which makes it easy to select all of the phlebotomists, technologists, or providers to send a group message.
  2. Select the Groups tab to display any Message Center groups that have been created. Via groups, you may quickly send a message to a pre-set group of users. Groups are defined in Harvest. See the Harvest online help for more information.

  3. Select one or more users or groups by marking the checkbox next to the user or group name. To send a message to all users or all groups in the Message Destination list, mark the "All Users" or "All Groups" checkbox.
  4. Select a delivery method for the message:
    • Send message when first signed in: Select “Before” or “After” from the accompanying drop-down list to schedule a message to be delivered before or after a specified date/time.
    • Send message if currently signed in: Send a message immediately if the selected users is signed in. This option is only available for multi-workstation systems.
    • Selecting the "Send message if currently signed in" delivery type alters the list of users. Only those users currently signed in are displayed in the Message Destination list.

  5. Enter your message in the provided field.
  6. Mark the “Require Response” checkbox to require the recipient(s) to respond to your message.
  7. Click the Send Message button to send the message to the selected recipient(s).
  8. Note that messages may be sent to one or more groups, but duplicate messages will not be sent to the same individual, even if they belong to more than one group.

  9. After the recipients receive the message, they must acknowledge or reply to the message. See Incoming Message for more information on receiving messages in Harvest Webstation.
