When you complete the Items to Order field during order entry, Harvest Webstation validates the order choices that you enter on both the Order Choice and Test levels. As part of the validation, Harvest Webstation alerts you if it finds duplicate entries.

Duplicate Order Choices

If you have entered duplicate order choices in the Items to Order field and attempt to continue to the next order entry page, Harvest Webstation alerts you to the duplication and removes the duplicates automatically from the list (this functionality does not apply to AP specimens, as you may add multiple copies of the same specimen to an order).

Duplicate Tests

If you enter order choices that contain one or more of the same test and attempt to continue to the next order entry page, Harvest Webstation alerts you to the duplication.

You will only be allowed to save the order if:

• You have enabled the "Allow saving of duplicate tests" preference. See Configuring Harvest Webstation: Modifying Program Preferences.

• You return to first order entry page and remove one of the order choices with the duplicate test(s) or order a different order choice. See Order Samples: Patient & Order Choices.

Unknown Order Choices

If you have entered in the Items to Order field order choices that no longer exist in the database or that are misspelled and attempt to continue to the next order entry page, Harvest Webstation alerts you to the problem, and it prompts you to remove the unknown order choices and select alternate order choices.
