Help Table of Contents

This page appears when you click the Reference Labs link on the left-hand side of the Harvest Webstation page.

Note that you must have the necessary security settings in order to access the Reference Labs page. See Configuring Harvest Webstation: Establishing Security Settings for more information.

Using the Reference Labs Page

  1. Select an entry from the Status drop-down list to view the orders with the selected status. The options are:
    • Waiting To Be Released: The order choice has been ordered in Harvest, but it has not been sent to the reference lab.
    • Released To Interface Engine: The reference lab has accepted the order choice.
    • File Created: The order choice has been sent to the reference lab.
    • Final Results Received: The reference lab has returned the order choice.
    • Preliminary Results Received: The reference lab has sent preliminary results. That is, the status Harvest received from the reference lab is "P."
    • Corrected Results Received: The reference lab has sent a corrected report.
    • Approved: The order choice has been approved.
    • Order Cancelled: The reference lab has rejected an order choice, and the system preference for sending cancellation messages to the reference lab is enabled.
    • Sent To Host: The results for a reference lab order choice have been sent to a host interface.
  2. Harvest Webstation updates the page to include only those order choices that have the selected status.

    • If one or more reference labs have order choices with the selected status, Harvest Webstation displays a tab for each lab that contains the corresponding order choices for each lab.
    • If no labs contain order choices with the selected status, Harvest Webstation displays a default tab labeled “All Reference Labs.”
  3. Select a view from the View drop-down list. There is a default view for this page, but you may create a custom view or modify the system default view in the Column Views table in Harvest. Refer to the online or printed help for Harvest for more information about creating column views.
  4. Note: The "Total and Break Options" specified in Harvest are ignored for Harvest Webstation.

  5. On each tab, the order choices are sorted by Sample Type, Order Date, Patient Name, Sample ID, and Order Choice by default. However, you may sort the list by one or more of the other columns by clicking on the column headings.
  6. By default, the rows are colored based on order priority. You may modify your advanced configuration options to disable this feature, if desired.

  7. The Sent Date/Time column indicates the date and time that ProComm sent the files to the reference lab. The format of the date/time will always be YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM, for easy sorting.
  8. To manually modify the reference lab status of an order choice, click on one or more entries from the list and click the Set Status button. Select the desired status from the drop-down list in the resultant pop-up. Click OK to save the order choice's new status, or click Cancel if you do not wish to save your changes.
  9. To remove one or more order choices from the list, select one or more entries from the list and click the Delete button. Click OK to confirm the deletion, or click Cancel to cancel the deletion.
  10. IMPORTANT: Deleting the order choice permanently deletes the information from the file.

  11. To send orders to the reference lab, select one or more entries from the list and click the Create Batch button. Harvest Webstation activates the telecommunication application, enabling communication to the reference lab.
  12. At this time, the status of the selected order choice is automatically updated to “File Created.” Once the reference lab has accepted the order, the status is automatically updated to “Released to Interface Engine” and a mark is placed in the Sent Date/Time column.

  13. When you create a batch using the Create Batch button, Harvest Webstation automatically creates a reference lab manifest.
  14. When Harvest Webstation sends the orders to the reference lab, it also receives any completed orders from the reference lab. The status of any orders received from the reference lab is automatically updated to “Results Received.”
  15. Click the Refresh button at any time to update the view with any changes that have been made.
