Order Samples: Selected Patient Information

This page appears after you select from the Patient List page during order entry a patient who has alerts, insurance information, recent orders, and/or stored orders.

Patient Alerts, Insurance, Recent Orders, and Stored Orders

If this is unchecked, Harvest and Webstation will not show the patient's stored orders. If both options are unchecked, Harvest will never display the "Stored and Recent Orders" page when looking up a patient in Harvest. If only one is checked, only that list will be displayed when looking up a patient if the patient has either stored or recent orders.

  1. The Order Samples: Selected Patient Information page contains a list of all of the patient alerts that have been created for the patient, the patient's primary insurance information, any recent orders placed for the patient, and/or the outstanding stored orders for the patient.
    • If the patient only has alerts, then the alerts display, and Harvest Webstation displays a message indicating that no stored orders and no recent orders were found.
    • If the patient only has insurance, then the alerts section of the page does not appear, Harvest Webstation displays the patient's primary insurance information appears, and it displays a message indicating that no stored orders and no recent orders were found.
    • If the patient only has recent orders, then the alerts section of the page does not appear, Harvest Webstation displays the recent orders for the patient, and it displays a message indicating that no stored orders were found.
    • If the patient only has stored orders, then the alerts section of the page does not appear, Harvest Webstation displays a message indicating that no recent orders were found, and it displays all of the stored orders for the patient.
    • If the patient has alerts, insurance, recent orders, and stored orders, then Harvest Webstation displays all of the alerts, primary insurance information, recent orders, and stored orders.
    • If the patient does not have alerts, insurance, recent orders, or stored orders, then this page will not appear.
    • Harvest Webstation appends "[DECEASED]" to the patient's name if the patient is marked as deceased on the Edit Patient: Patient Tab page or in Harvest. See Edit Patient: Patient Tab.
  2. You may only view patient alerts from this page. However, if you have the necessary security settings, you may modify or delete patient alerts in the Edit Patient page.
  3. If a patient has a primary insurance company, Harvest Webstation lists the insurance information (the Insurance Company ID, Insurance Company, Group NameGroup #, and Policy #) beneath the patient alerts, if any. If the patient does not have a primary insurance company, then Harvest Webstation does not display the Insurance section of the page.
  4. Harvest Webstation lists each recent and stored order with the Sample ID, Order Choice, Provider, Draw Date, Draw Time (recent orders only), and Type (stored orders only). This page will always display the ordering provider, even if the Harvest Webstation security filter settings are set to filter access based on the patient's provider instead.
    • Depending on the preferences in Harvest, Harvest Webstation may or may not display stored orders and/or recent orders. See the Harvest online or printed help for more information.
    • You may only view recent orders from this page. Use this list to determine what orders have been recently placed to help you ensure that you are not entering a duplicate order. An order must be accessioned in Harvest before it appears in the recent order list; otherwise, the order is considered a stored order, and it will be displayed in that list.
    • You will be able to see all of the orders placed for the patient within the time range defined in Harvest, regardless of your security settings.
  5. Click the sample ID entry of a stored order to edit or attach additional order choices to the selected stored order. Once you click a sample ID, you will return to the Order Samples: Patient & Order Choices page.
  6. To create a new order for the patient, click the New Order button. Harvest Webstation returns you to the Order Samples: Patient & Order Choices page to begin placing a new order.
  7. If you do not wish to continue placing the order, you must close this page and return to the Order Samples: Patient & Order Choices page and cancel the order.
